Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 4 in F minor, op. 36
As Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky explained in letters, the Symphony No. 4 is ultimately a characterization of the nature of fate. This work premiered in Moscow in 1878. Also, in Middle Europe it sometimes receives the nickname "Fatum", or "Fate". Valery Gergiev is conducting the Mariinsky Orchestra.
