Rudolf Nureyev: Celestial Attraction

Born in March 1938, Rudolf Khametovitch Noureev remains one of the greatest dancers of the 20th century. Blessed with exceptional beauty and virtuosity, he led a brilliant international career. After being given a political asylum in France in 1961, he performed for Roland Petit, Maurice Béjart, George Balanchine and Martha Graham. He later become a director of dance at the Paris Opera, his "Swan Lake". The dancer died on January 6, 1993, in Paris, affected by AIDS.
