Provence, August 1944: the other D-Day

At the end of 1943, beginning of 1944, the Allied forces decided to make a double landing in the North and South of France. The aim was to catch the Germans in a pincer movement and try to end the war. Operation Overlord took place on June 6, 1944 in Normandy and Operation Dragoon on August 15 in Provence.
