Picasso: Metamorphoses In Blue And Rose

Condensed from 1901 to 1907 and relegated to the shadow of the great Cubist canvases, Picasso's blue and rose periods are often little studied for themselves. Nevertheless, it was at this time that Picasso broke with his father's teaching and freed himself from the academicism of the Beaux-Arts. He then began a period of trying out different techniques, signatures and different masters to invent his own way.
