Opened to the public in 1900, the Paris metro welcomes more than five million passengers every day, which is twice the population of the capital. Different people make the heart of Paris beat, from the driver of the first train in the morning to the maintenance workers who take advantage of the night to work in peace. The Paris metro, a unique piece of national heritage, continues to open up to new challenges. Today, the creation of the Grand Paris Express should double the infrastructure of this network.
