Paris, 1892. Eugene Boubouroche is one of those slightly naïve people, whose kindness is shamelessly abused in their presence and who is regularly laughed at behind their back. Nevertheless, he has his habits. He can be found at the café "Les Trois Fiacres", every day at 18h sharp, playing cards with acquaintances, whom he believes his friends. Moreover, he meets Adele, a young widow who "befriends" him and who will wrap him around her finger.
